Note
The Xentara licence server can only be installed by an administrator.

Under Windows, the Xentara licence server uses the built-in Windows Installer system. The Xentara licence server is distributed as a Windows Installer package with the extension .msi. Double-click the installer package file to install the Xentara licence server.

The installer places a shortcut to the Xentara licence server into the Windows Start menu. This shortcut will start the Xentara licence server without command line options, loading the licences and configuration from the default locations.

The installer also creates a Windows Defender Firewall rule to allow incoming connections to the Xentara licence server from private networks. You can modify the settings of the firewall rule to fine-tune access to the Xentara licence server.
