Pickering’s PXI modules are called “cards” in the Xentara Pickering PXI driver to be consistent with the nomenclature used in Pickering’s documentation and software, which does not distinguish between PCI cards and PXI modules.

Cards are a type of Xentara I/O components. Each card represents a single PXI module.

A 6 sub-unit RTD simulator module will have the following structure:

Accessing Cards

Pickering PXI cards have the following members:

Attributes

key	The card’s primary key.
name	The card’s name. The name is the last component of the primary key.
UUID	The unique UUID of the card.
type	The card’s element type. For Pickering PXI cards, this is always “Pickering PXI card”.
category	The card’s category. For Pickering PXI cards, this is always “device”.
bus	The logical bus location of the card.
slot	The logical slot location of the card.
