ACLs (Access Control Lists)

Remote Xentara clients, like OPC UA clients and Web clients, must be authenticated to gain Access to most Xentara functionality. Xentara uses multi-mesh authentication, allowing multiple different ways of authenticating remote clients. The following remote authentication methods are supported by Xentara:

Which authentication methods are supported by a specific remote access service depends on the protocol used. The Xentara OPC UA server skill, for example, supports certificate-based and username/password authentication, because those are the authentication methods supported by OPC UA. The Xentara Web service does not support certificate-based authentication, but does support OAuth 2.0 authentication, because that is what the HTTP protocol supports.

The actual actions allowed for a particutar client are configured using ACLs.
