Data Blocks

Data items which their corresponding PLC variables are defined in the target PLC’s data blocks (have the DB memory area in their addresses) must be configured as children of a data block child element. Data items defined within a certain data block have a common DB number.

S7 data blocks have the following attributes:

Attributes

key	The data block’s primary key.
name	The data block’s name. The name is the last component of the primary key.
UUID	The unique UUID of the data block.
type	The data block’s element type. For S7 data blocks, this is always “S7 data block”.
category	The data block’s category. For S7 data blocks, this is always “sub device”.
